While all of the above are true, she actually spends most of her day hunched over a computer keyboard - or a scanner. Allen has loved old magazines since childhood, when she discovered her family's stash of vintage Life Magazines and Saturday Evening Posts in a closet. She was probably the only kid in high school to actually have a collection of Victorian fonts and page decorations - a special treat from when her commercial artist dad would let her tag along on a visit to the art supply store. In England, Allen made the thrilling discovery that one could acquire magazines that were much, much older than that vintage box of Lifes - and the rest, as they say, is history. Literally. Allen now curates a collection of thousands of articles from Victorian periodicals on her VictorianVoices.net website, and produces the monthly Victoriana magazine "Victorian Times." She is a professional writer, with several published books (yep, right here on Amazon). She has lived in England and Germany, and says even her cat has frequent flyer miles (or should). She currently lives in Maryland with her husband and that same well-traveled cat.

Number of Pages: 226

Dimensions: 0.48 x 11.02 x 8.5 IN

Publication Date: August 29, 2018
