He received his Master of Science degree in Chemistry from Long Island University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Polytechnic University. He also recently was an advisor and mentor to scientists in Afghanistan learning the latest analytical techniques. In addition to teaching chemistry, he has also developed a two-semester chemistry course curriculum for a community college.
