It has been referred to as a beach house, a bungalow, and a bomb shelter! They love it though, and have learned quite a lot about home improvement DIY, and how to live in a small space - without killing each other! Though none of them live closer than 5 1\/2 hours, there are four beautiful daughters, one handsome son, and eleven wonderful grandchildren in their lives. At the age of four, Elle homesteaded in Alaska with her parents and four siblings, and then moved back to Louisiana five years later. Her mother's letters and journals from that time in their lives have always held a special place in her heart, and she constantly encouraged her mother to turn them into a book. Sadly, that never happened, so she decided to write the non-fiction Coffee-Drunk or Blind herself, and learned a lot about Alaska homesteading she only thought she had known!
