My father died when I was four days old leaving me, three older sisters and my mother without a source of income. There were no welfare checks in that time in history. Despite all the adversity having to overcome poverty, sickness and anguish, I was able to become a respected family doctor in Opp, Alabama. I was among the last generation of family physicians who would treat the medical conditions, repair their broken bones, deliver their babies, and do most of their general surgery. I give credit to Almighty God for the opportunity to have the experiences which lead to all of the success I had as a physician. Some interesting medical cases were included in the book as well as travel stories after retirement.
