He is the author of the short story collections \u003ci\u003eA Last Resort for Desperate People: Stories and a Novella\u003c\/i\u003e, from SFAU Press; \u003ci\u003eOceanography\u003c\/i\u003e, winner of the Orison Books 2018 Fiction Prize; and \u003ci\u003eScream Queen\u003c\/i\u003e, winner of the 2023 Hudson Prize. His work has appeared in such journals as the \u003ci\u003eAlaska Quarterly Review\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eBellevue Literary Review\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eHopkins Review\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003eOxford American\u003c\/i\u003e. He has received support from the South Carolina Arts Commission and the Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing.
