by Rudy Ernst (Author)
ANATOMY OF A DADA MIND opens a window into Rudy Ernst's artistic creations from the guts that bypass the rationality of his mind. His drawings and writings, as evidenced by the Dada-Drawings, the Dada-Tales and the Dada-Poms, are not the result of previously memorized -or planned- images or writings, but rather the spontaneous products of an on-the-spot creation.
Author Biography
Rudy Ernst's life was marked by extremes. After his Ph.D. in economics, and following a horrific accident in 1965, he suffered a near-death experience with a 32-minute cardiac arrest, but went on to becoming independently wealthy. In 1982 he pulled the plug from corporate life and immigrated to Manhattan with his wife and two sons to become a painter, sculptor and writer. Obsessed with the act of creation, he then lived years in isolation in his New York studio on the Upper West Side. Ernst shares his time between the metropolis of Manhattan and the rural life of the Blue Ridge Mountains in southwest Virginia, where he built his large studio back in 1988. Previously Published Books by Rudy Ernst: The Story of Dada, Manhattan Flash Stories, Sculptomania, Magic (Computer Aided Art-CAA), Ungeschminkt (German Childhood Stories), Kurz belichtet und verdichtet (A Selection of German Poems).
