Best Foot Forward is entire play on the English idiom "Put your best foot forward." The book contains many full color photographs of how women are putting their best foot forward. There is a section on high heels, a section on flats, a section on sandals, a section on pedicures, a section on tattoos, a section on toe rings, a section on other foot jewelry and a section on just beautiful bare feet. There is an introduction that explains how this book came about and also an index that provides information about the model. It tells where the photo was taken and includes interesting information such as whether there is a story or a special meaning behind a tattoo or piece of jewelry. In fact, the book shows us that feet can be expressive of the person they belong to, perhaps even more so than a portrait. Best Foot Forward won the 2014 International Beach Book Festival for the photography/art book category.
