The Bhagavad Gita is a foundational scriptural book for Hinduism. It consists of 700 verses written in Sanskrit, and details the various paths to spiritual realization. It is constructed as a dialog between Lord Krishna and his friend Prince Arjuna, when the latter wishes to withdraw from the field of battle.

In this book, the author has provided a literal translation of the Bhagavad Gita into an English poetical rendering, in a meter equivalent to the original work. This meter is called the "Shloka Meter" which brings beauty to the original Sanskrit work. Through this method of an equivalent metrical translation, this book enables readers of this work to appreciate the Bhagavad Gita's poetical beauty in English.
