Author Biography

Maxine Lavon Montgomery is professor of English at Florida State University. She is author of The Fiction of Gloria Naylor: Houses and Spaces of Resistance and The Postapocalyptic Black Female Imagination; editor of Conversations with Gloria Naylor; and coeditor of New Critical Essays on Toni Morrison's "God Help the Child" Race, Culture, and History, the latter two published by University Press of Mississippi.
