Author Biography

Joe A. Mobley earned an M.A. from North Carolina State University. He has authored five books on various topics in North Carolina history, served as editor of the North Carolina Historical Review, and worked as administrator of the Historical Publications Section of the North Carolina Office of Archives and History. Now retired, Mr. Mobley is an adjunct faculty member of the history department at North Carolina State University.
