It discusses contacts and parallels between Joyce and three Russian figures: Bely, Nabokov and Eisenstein (and, more briefly, Pasternak). Thirdly, it details the Soviet reception of Joyce from 1922 until publication of the first Russian Ulysses in 1989, as well as surveying Marxist approaches to Joyce.
