Bemis is a doctoral student at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, College of William & Mary. Nicolay V. Parin (1932-2012) and Ilia B. Shakohvskoy are affiliated with the P. P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology, Russian Academy of Sciences.
