Shakespeare Soup is designed for students and audience to experience a performance of 3 classic literary stories in under 2 hours. Shakespeare's original text is combined with quatrain poetry narration written by Mr. Baldasare to form easy-to-understand playlets. Size and gender of cast may vary; smaller casts can be used by having same actors play various roles in the 3 playlets. Also genders may be reversed as needed. Cast: 11 males, 8 females

Author Biography

Nick Baldasare is a writer/actor who has been involved in The Bard's work for over 30 years. His credits include the starring role in "Horatio's Hamlet", a short film adapted from his one-act play and co-produced by Bowling Green State University. Nick's YouTube videos of his performances in Shakespeare plays have nearly a half million views and are used to enhance student understanding in classrooms worldwide. In addition to his film and stage work, for the past several years he has been writing and performing monologues based on classic literature in schools throughout the midwest. His goal is to entertain and enlighten while sharing the beauty of Shakespeare's poetry.
