In the meantime, a royal family and villagers are sent to inhabit the isle and quickly make it their home. Years later, Grand Duke Maxim, his wife Elena, and three little duchesses now benevolently rule over the isle. The youngest duchess, Evelyn, is the dragons' favorite; they spend endless days playing and climbing together until one day when Evelyn finds a legless dragon named Troika on the beach, and their lives are changed forever.
