The documents available include myths and legends, court and diplomatic documents, letters, economic texts, and others, and they are in Ugaritic, the native language of the city-state, as well as various other languages, showing the cosmopolitan nature of the city.

Author Biography

The author holds a PhD in Hebrew and Semitic Studies, with a minor in Women's Studies, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This book is based on her dissertation research.
